Underground

Blue Coat’s hugely successful shows and pantomimes, produced by the arts and crafts teacher Ian Preston from the 1970s to the 1990s, are celebrated by these archived programmes.
Productions including Aladdin, Mother Goose and Cinderella included surreal elements and special effects, from inserting a pop singer Boy George impersonator to flying the cast on wires. The shows combined acting, dancing, singing and music, plus technical wizardry, costumes and make up – everyone had a role.
